It’s common knowledge that what we eat can significantly impact our mental health. Some symptoms of depression, anxiety, and memory loss can be reduced by eating a balanced diet, feeding your body all the right nutrients, and taking part in regular exercise.

If you’re struggling to find foods that are rich in the vitamins you need, supplement tablets and gummies are available to help you maintain your physical and mental wellbeing. Here are some vitamins and minerals that can boost mental health:

Vitamins to help your mental health

Vitamin C

Vitamin C benefits our bodies in an abundance of ways. It lowers our risk of chronic and heart disease, manages blood pressure, and boosts our immunity. This will also help to lower anxiety – especially for those who suffer from illness anxiety disorders.

It’s also great for uplifting your mood. Vitamin C supplements have been found to reduce psychological distress and mood disturbances. It also works to maintain a health memory as we age.

You can easily increase your Vitamin C intake by eating more fruit and vegetables like oranges, tomatoes, and kiwis.

Vitamin B

The B vitamin is great for maintaining our physical and mental wellbeing. As well as boosting our immunity, Vitamin B is used to breakdown food and process it into energy.

In terms of mental health, vitamin B is classed as one of the best vitamins. It has been found to improve memory, reduce fatigue and prevent irritability.

Vitamin B can be found in most ordinary foods: leafy greens such as spinach and broccoli, red meats and poultry, seeds, nuts, and even cheese.

Vitamin D

The sunshine vitamin. This golden vitamin helps our body absorb the calcium we need for bone repair and growth. It’s also known to regulate mood and ease the symptoms of depression.

Vitamin D can be absorbed by spending more time outdoors – which will also provide huge benefits for your mental wellbeing. If you’d prefer to add the vitamin to your diet, opt for fish dishes like tuna or salmon, as well as orange juice, soy milk, or egg yolks.

Minerals to help your mental health

Omega 3

Omega 3 is probably the best mineral for those suffering from poor mental health. It has been found to reduce the symptoms of PTSD, depression, stress, and bipolar disorder. It’s also known to aid memory and boost overall brain function.

The easiest way to boost your intake of Omega 3 is by eating plenty of fish. But if fish isn’t your thing, you can also use flaxseed, walnuts, or cod liver oil.

Incorporating all of these new foods and vitamins into your diet can be tricky – especially when you have other family members tastes to think about. The easiest way to boost your intake is with a multivitamin for men from Noor.  Noor aims to provide the best tablets and gummies to boost mental and physical wellbeing in patients of all ages.

Multivitamins provide a one-pill solution, but if you want to focus on certain vitamins in particular, there are plenty of options on the market for specific supplements.
