Say something nice

It doesn’t take a lot to brighten someone else’s day. We can all use a compliment or words of encouragement at times. Every day, it’s easy to hear people judge each other and it seems to me that we tend to judge ourselves very differently to the way we judge others. The more judgemental someone is, the less aware they seem to be about the effects of their own behaviour on others.

Today’s post is just a simple message to spread good cheer and kindess wherever you can. It doesn’t take a lot of effort and it just may make some one else’s day. It could even mean the difference between life and death. This may seem melodramatic but I personally know  of an example of a compliment from a stranger changing a suicidal person’s intent to kill themselves.

One of my clients was suicidal and had decided to end his life later that day. He had gone to a nearby shop to get more tablets and while he was there, a lady had asked him to help her reach something on a top shelf. He helped her out and she turned to him and said, ” Thanks for your help, you’re very special”. He said he isn’t sure why, but he felt those words to said to hum for a reason and that it was a sign that still had good things to do in his life. He now helps other young suicidal people and tries, in his own way, to spread kindness in the world.

Say something nice – it could have a huge impact.
