Reimagining Self-Care in 2023

As we stagger towards the end of the year in 2022, many of us have no doubt cast our eye towards 2023. To start planning about what we can do to make 2023 a much better year than we’ve had this year.

This year has been much more stressful year than we have encountered for a long time. The world is going through multiple significant events that are straining multiple aspects of our economy and therefore our household.

Coming through the recent pandemic was tough enough as it is, and the economic challenges many of us are now facing have made life even tougher.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

In this article, we outlined five things you can do to reclaim your life and make 2023 a year to remember.

Get Your Diet Right

When life gets a bit crazy, it’s often hard for us to stick to our pre-planned eating goals. We may start off with a plan and then find that we get too busy or we get too sick, or we can’t forward the food that we want, and then we end up going for cheaper alternatives that are not only not as good for us, but they don’t make us feel good.

It’s easy to get stuck in a downward spiral where we start making some bad choices, and then the consequences of those choices are that we feel flat and we feel yuck, and we are then less able to make some of those more positive choices that are going to help us feel better.

Getting your diet right should be one of your main goals in 2023. In this article, we aren’t going to prescribe what that diet should be as diet is very variable based on the individual. Some people thrive on a vegetarian or vegan diet. Whereas others thrive on a meat-only diet. If you don’t know what diet works best for your body, then maybe you could use the rest of 2022 to do some experiments and see what works well.

It can be useful to trace your lineage back and see what continent your ancestors spent the most time on, as there’s a good chance that the prevailing diets from those continents may be what your body responds positively to.

Once you get your diet right, your body will feel energised and vibrant and be able to support you to do the other things you need to make the most out of 2023.

See A Chiropractor

If your body is out of alignment, then you won’t be able to make the most of the time you have available. Maximizing your body functioning on top of an energizing diet will give you the energy and physical capability to tackle any challenge you want.

If you haven’t seen a chiropractor before then it may be worth going to get an initial assessment done. In the initial assessment, they will check out your whole body and then provide a series of recommendations and follow-up treatments, if there are any that are relevant.

Chiropractors have a very positive impact on overall wellness and places like the Ideal Wellness Centre serve the mind and the body, not just the body. You can read more about the services and the impact they can have on their website.

Stay Active

With your body functioning properly and your body powered by a proper diet, you have the energy to get and stay active. This doesn’t mean you have to go to the gym six times a week, and it doesn’t mean that you have to prepare yourself to run a marathon, but even going for regular walks with an occasional high-intensity exercise session can make a huge difference to our well-being.

When your body gets an occasional workout, it can bring your overall resting heart rate way down to a much healthier level, which not only helps you feel good at the moment but can maximize your lifespan.

Find Inner Peace

Once you’ve nurtured your body, you can then focus on your mind. If your internal psychology is a mess, then no matter how good your body’s feeling and how good your diet is, you won’t be able to make the most of 2023 and the opportunities it presents to you.

A simple meditation practice can be a good place to start. If you set aside the first 60 minutes of each day to simply sit still on a chair and let your brain think about whatever it wants to think about – this can have a dramatic positive impact on your mental health.

Often we are so busy with life that our brain never gets a chance to process everything it needs to process. So by creating that time and doing it for 60 days in a row, you can transform your overall level of inner peace.

Reclaim 2023

If you’re looking to make some changes in 2023, then there’s no better time to start planning for that than now.
