How to increase your self-belief

Self-belief means you feel good enough and you have faith in your ideas and abilities. It’s the feeling that you can handle whatever life throws at you. With enough self-belief you can get away with anything.

Tell yourself: Whatever happens, I will find a way through. I am able to handle whatever life throws at me. I am competent and capable and have everything I need to cope with life.

Remember these things:

1) Don’t belittle yourself

Constant criticism will turn you into a person you are desperate not to be. Talk positively to yourself as you would a best friend.

2) Prize yourself

Expect the best and tell yourself you deserve it.

3) Be aware of your beliefs about the world

What do you want to believe about you? The truth is – you can believe anything you want. Whatever you choose to believe will be true for you. You accumulate evidence to prove/justify your beliefs whether they are negative or positive…why would you allow negative thoughts to linger then? What purpose do they serve?

4) Take responsibility

Don’t blame others/circumstances for your position in life. You are responsible through past choices and decisions. Don’t see yourself as a powerless victim.Take back your power and make a decision to change whatever you don’t like, or at least take positive steps towards improving the situation. Be self reliant.

5) Improve happiness

Laugh every day. Laughter is a great stress antidote. Remind yourself too of all the things you are grateful for and appreciate in your life.
