Acupuncture Can Help Men Take Better Care of Their Health in 5 Ways

In today’s world, it is not uncommon for men to suffer from various health conditions. Of course, there are many reasons why these conditions arise, and some can’t be avoided.

However, with the help of acupuncture and other natural treatments, you may be able to live a happier and healthier life. In this post, we will discuss five ways that acupuncture can support men’s health.

  1. Minimizing Stress

Acupuncture can help relieve stress and anxiety. Acupuncturists stimulate specific points in the body, which has a calming effect on your nervous system. This treatment may also release endorphins – natural painkillers that make you feel better mentally and physically.

When modern acupuncture is combined with other therapies like counseling or meditation, it can treat depression because it releases neurotransmitters called serotonin from nerve endings in the brain stem.

  1. Enhanced Fertility

Infertility problems in men are a widespread and severe issue. As many as one in six couples may have trouble conceiving, up to 50% of infertility is related to the male partner.  Acupuncture for fertility can play an essential role in assisting with fertility by helping boost sperm quality, quantity, motility, and vitality.

Among other things, acupuncture has been shown to increase testosterone levels which not only helps improve semen production but also aids sex drive, libido, and erectile function.

It’s generally recommended that healthy lifestyle habits like quitting smoking or lowering alcohol intake begin before fertility treatments for best results—but this tip will be beneficial if you’ve already started treatment.

  1. Improved Sleep Quality

Sleep is essential for stress relief and healing, but many men struggle with sleep due to high testosterone levels. Acupuncture can help you get a better night’s rest for up to six months after the treatment.

If you are initiating acupuncture because your sleep has become worse, you should discuss this issue with your acupuncturist as soon as possible so they know what other issues may be affecting your quality of sleep.

  1. Reduces Chronic Pain

If you’re suffering from chronic pain, acupuncture can help. Acupuncture was found to decrease pain intensity and frequency in a study of 139 patients with chronic low back pain published in the journal Pain Medicine.

The reduction was seen after just one treatment session. Still, it may take up to six sessions before you notice any relief from your symptoms because this is how long it takes for an acupuncture point to wake all the way up so that it’s functioning better than when you were firstborn.

In addition, another study published in A carbon-based Therapies suggested that those who received at least four treatments within six weeks experienced significant improvements compared with people who got no treatment or sham (fake) needle therapy: 78% reported improvement versus 67%.

  1. Nutrition

Maintaining a healthy diet and staying hydrated is key to a man’s overall health. Acupuncture can help balance this area using foods rich in vitamins and minerals, such as leafy greens and citrus fruits, which give more energy while also detoxifying harmful substances from your body.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), men need more yin-type foods than women because they have less menstrual blood or equivalent fluid loss during menstruation. In TCM terms, “yang” refers to having a strong sex drive; conversely, “yin” represents a weakness in sexual desire.

A regular intake of nutritious food will strengthen you physically and provide an increased sense of vitality for continued sexual stimulation throughout life.

Acupuncture is a potent therapy for dealing with what’s going on in your body, and it can be used to help keep you healthy or even treat an illness that already exists.
